Four new homes will be built in the corner of land at Stalybridge Cricket Club, it has been decided.
The application put forward by Mr Kris Ward had already been approved in October 2022, but they wanted to make further changes to the interior of the plans as well as the outside. The building that will be converted used to be the function room of the cricket club off Gorse Hall Road – which is no longer required.
Sport England had objected to the proposals, stating that the club’s car park could be impacted and that no ball strike risk assessment had been created.
Officers claimed that neither would be necessary as the position of the existing clubhouse screens the properties from the cricket pitch.
Access to the car park would not be affected by the plans, the meeting heard.
The plans were approved unanimously.
