Park Bridge Heritage Centre at Park Bridge in Ashton could be extended to form a larger café area plus proposed outside dining area.
Under the plans, the café would be extended to provide up to 58 covers.
In addition, the existing public car park would be used by people visiting the café and staff. A terrace will be used as an outside dining area.
The plan is for the existing café, within the former stables, to be reconfigured to be used by staff as a food preparation area, storage and for customer toilets.
The café will be open 8am to 6pm each day of the week.
The existing visitor centre car park will be used for customers of the café.
The plans are being considered by Tameside Council planners.
