Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in a violent attack near the tram stop on Edge Lane in Droylsden on the evening of November 1st.
At approximately 8:10 pm, officers were alerted to reports of an injured man at the scene. Initial investigations suggest that the incident involved a high-speed pursuit between two cars heading toward Manchester. One of the cars subsequently crashed, and a man inside was attacked with weapons. He is now receiving treatment in hospital for his injuries.
No arrests have been made as yet, and GMP is urging anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the Edge Lane area around the time of the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Anna Barker from GMP said, “We are currently investigating the full circumstances of last night’s violent incident, and we have multiple officers undertaking all appropriate lines of enquiry. While a man suffered serious injuries, we are fortunate that we are not talking about an even more serious outcome, and we are determined to locate those responsible.”
DCI Barker added, “I would urge anyone with any information to please get in touch with us, as your assistance could greatly assist in our ongoing work. If you saw anything or captured footage, no matter how small, please contact us.”
