Police appeal for information following Stalybridge collision

At around 11am on Thursday (10 October) officers were called to a collision involving a black VW Polo and a white Vauxhall Vivario van on the junction of Clarence Street and Tame Street.

The driver of the VW Polo, a man in his thirties, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

The Vauxhall Vivario and occupants failed to remain at the scene.

Detective Constable Stacey Holmes of Tameside Division said: “This was a nasty collision that saw a man having to be taken to hospital due to his injuries. We are appealing for any witnesses or dash cam footage that may have been taken of the incident.

“Anyone with any information about the incident should contact police on 0161 856 9353 quoting incident number 1077 of 10/10/19. Information can also be passed anonymously by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
