Police are appealing for information after a crash in Ashton, believed to be involving two electric motorbikes, in which a young man was seriously injured.

Officers were called to a road traffic collision on Alt Hill Lane at around 2pm on the afternoon of Sunday 4 September.

An air ambulance was witnessed in the area but it was later confirmed by the North West Air Ambulance Charity that a man in his 20s was taken to Salford Royal Hospital by land ambulance.

On Friday (16 September), Greater Manchester Police issued a fresh appeal for any witnesses of the incident or anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch.

PC Graeme Bailey, of GMP's Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are really to keen hear from the public or anyone in the area at the time of the incident, especially those who have dashcam footage or witnessed what happened.

“One male has serious injuries from this road traffic collision and, prior to police arriving at the scene, the vehicles were removed so we are looking at a number of lines of enquiry to determine how this incident happened.”

Anyone with information that can help the investigation should call GMP via 101 or 0161 856 8866, quoting log number 1769 of 04/09/22.

Alternatively, details can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
