Police made arrests and seized drugs and booze during a clampdown on antisocial and criminal behaviour in Ashton town centre.
Tameside’s Operation North Star Day of Action helped identify potential shoplifters and allowed officers to arrest and warn anyone behaving in an antisocial manner in the town's shopping streets.
During the operation cans of beer and cider were confiscated and four arrests were made - two for breach of a court order, one for theft and one for possession of an offensive weapon.
Two people tested positive for Class B drugs and four warnings were given out for drinking or using drugs in a public place.
In addition, police were tipped off about a drug dealing hotspot and identified a shoplifter operating in the town centre.
A police spokesman said: "It was a very successful day for the Tameside Neighbourhood Team, with great results."
