Police are treating two separate early-morning attacks on the same house in Droylsden as attempted arson.
Officers were initially called to the address on Market Street at around 3am on Saturday morning (7 August).
It was established that a brick had been thrown through a window and there had been a fire at the front of the house which had been extinguished.
A similar incident happened earlier in the week, at around 1.30am on Tuesday (3 August).
Police say no injuries were reported on either occasion but have confirmed they are treating both incidents as attempted arson.
Officers are appealing to anyone in the local community who can help with their investigation to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Aidan Kennedy, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This is incredibly distressing for the family involved, and we are doing our utmost to support them and ensure their safety.
"We have launched a full investigation into why this is taking place and who is responsible, and we are looking to the local community who might be able to offer information that could assist in our investigation.
"You might live in or have visited the surrounding area and recall seeing someone acting suspiciously. Any piece of information, no matter how small, could help us to identify who is responsible for these repeated attacks."
