Residents at Cavendish Mill in Ashton had to be evacuated after a fire broke out in a flat.
It happened at around 2pm on Monday afternoon (2 August).
Six fire engines and a hydraulic platform were sent to the scene.
It’s understood that the fire involved a pan of food on a cooker and it was out before fire crews arrived.
A woman who discovered the fire was treated outside the mill using oxygen therapy.
Residents were allowed back into their properties around an hour later.
Both sides of a section of Cavendish Street were reduced to one lane whilst emergency services responded.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service told the Reporter: “At approximately 2:15pm today (Monday 2 August) firefighters were notified by a smoke alarm to a fire on Cavendish Street, Ashton-under-Lyne.
“Fire engines from Ashton, Hollins, Hyde, Mossley and Stalybridge fire stations arrived quickly at the scene. A Technical Response Unit from Ashton and a Hydraulic Platform from Oldham were also dispatched.
“The fire involved a pan of food on a cooker and was out when firefighters arrived at the scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke, and one woman was treated by GMFRS personnel using oxygen therapy.”
Firefighters were still at the scene at around 4.30pm to make the area safe.
