Revealed: The winners of our Tameside Hospital design competition

To celebrate 73 years of the NHS, we asked our young readers and listeners to design a Tameside Hospital of the future - and they didn't disappoint!

Your Tameside Reporter, Glossop Chronicle and Tameside Radio teamed up with the hospital trust to invite local children to get creative, as part of the celebrations to recognise the first NHS Social Care and Frontline Workers' Day on 5 July.

We received an array of impressive designs from primary school children across Tameside and Glossopdale.

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust chairperson Jane McCall and Tameside Reporter editor Nigel Skinner (pictured below) had the tough task of judging the entries.

Here are the top six winning designs:

Nathaniel Nield, six
Micklehurst All Saints CE Primary School

Lyla Berry, eight

Ellie-May Wardle, seven
Gorse Hall Primary School

Evan Weng, Year 3
St Stephen RC Primary School

Alyssa Longmate, nine

Lily Newton, five
Micklehurst All Saints CE Primary School

The competition was divided into two age groups - five to eight-year-olds and eight to 11-year-olds.

The overall winner in the five to eight-year-olds category was six-year-old Nathaniel Nield from Micklehurst All Saints CE Primary School in Mossley, while the overall winner in the eight and over category was eight-year-old Lyla Berry. Congratulations to them both.

They will receive a 'behind the scenes' tour with Chief Nurse Pete Weller, plus the chance to dress up in scrubs, white coats and stethoscopes before enjoying tea with the chairman who will present them with a special certificate and book tokens.

Here's a selection of some of the other designs we received which you can flick through:

Thank you to all of the children who took the time to produce a design.
