Boxing legend Ricky Hatton has become the first celebrity to be eliminated from this year's series of Dancing On Ice.
From the intense world of boxing to the elegant and demanding realm of figure skating, the 45-year-old said he "liked setting new challenges and keeping [himself] busy" when his position on the show was first announced.
In Saturday's (January 21) episode, Ricky, who grew up in Hattersley and attended the local high school there, found himself in the skate-off before being voted to leave by judges.
He said he was "gutted" to be leaving but praised his skating partner, Robin Johnstone, for her hard work and said he had met some "wonderful" friends along the way.
Ricky shot to fame while competing professionally between 1997 and 2012. During his boxing career, he held multiple world championships at light-welterweight and one at welterweight.
He was ranked as the 11th greatest European boxer of all time and the 5th greatest British boxer of all time. In 2005, Ricky was named Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine, the Boxing Writers Association of America and ESPN.
