Ricky Hatton MBE joins Dancing on Ice 2024

World Champion Boxer Ricky Hatton MBE confirmed as ITV's Dancing on Ice 2024 celebrity contestant. Born in Stockport, the Hattersley High School alumnus was raised on the Hattersley council estate in Hyde.

"I thought my days of worrying about ending up dazed and looking upwards were over…but I never duck a challenge, even with a wonky helmet," shares World Champion Boxer Ricky Hatton MBE on his social media handle.

Popular ice-skating competition, 'Dancing on Ice', returns to ITV and ITVX in January 2024 with a stellar new cast line-up. And Ricky is the first celebrity confirmed by ITV to participate in the new Dancing on Ice 2024 series.

Born in Stockport, the Hattersley High School alumnus was raised on the Hattersley council estate in Hyde.

Confirming the news on the ITV show 'This Morning', Ricky said:

"If I can hold my nerve in the boxing ring, I should be able to hold my nerve in the ice rink.   I like setting new challenges and keeping myself busy!"

He is one of the best-known boxers in the UK, having competed professionally between 1997 and 2012. During his career, Hatton has earned three times light welterweight and welterweight world championships.

So far, the confirmed cast for season 16 of the much-loved ITV show, created and produced by Lifted Entertainment, 'Dancing on Ice' includes Ricky Hatton MBE, Claire Sweeney, Hannah Spearritt, Amber Davies, Greg Rutherford MBE, Miles Nazaire, Stephen Lustig-Webb, Lou Sanders, Ricky Norwood, Adele Roberts, Roxy Shahidi and Ryan Thomas.
