There have been a number of planned road closures for this week across Greater Manchester. There is a string of main road and motorway closures motorists should be aware of this week, with some expected closures forming part of larger roadwork projects. Carriageway repairs are currently ongoing on the M60, M61 and the M62 around Manchester which will be done overnight. The majority of closures are related to longer term infrastructure projects, such as the Manchester to Chorlton Cycle Way construction – which has seen work started on the Sandy Lane/Barlow Moor Road/High Lane junction.
- Deansgate will be closed, in both directions between Whitworth Street West and Trafford Street, from 4am to midday on Saturday, November 4 to 5pm Sunday, November 5
- Until Sunday November 26, works will take place at the junction of Liverpool Road and Water Street
- King Street West will be closed, between the Heaton Lane roundabout and Chestergate, from Monday, October 26 up until Christmas
- Work is continuing on the construction of a CYCLOPS junction at the Wilbraham Road/Manchester Road junction, to provide better and more seamless transit for pedestrians, motorists and cyclists
- Until February 2024, works will be taking place on Oldham Way
- Trafford Council will carry out works at the junction with White City Way and will last for approximately 20 weeks before moving onto to the junctions of Chester Road and Great Stone Road in early 2024
- Until summer 2024, carriageway redesign works will take place on Kingsway, between Chester Road and Barton Road
- Until 2026, the St Anne’s Road bridge over the M67 will be closed along with the M67 junction 2 eastbound on-slip
