A busy animal shelter is appealing for more food for the cats and kittens in its care.
Millstream Animal Shelter currently has nearly 40 kittens and many adult cats at their base in Clayton Bridge.
They say the cats are eating the food faster than it is coming in so they urgently need donations of kitten and adult wet and dry food.
The animal charity was established in 1993 and its aim is to rescue and re-home unwanted and abandoned cats.
Millstream Animal Shelter trustee Michaela Kasprowicz said: “We know times are tough but we urgently need donations of food.
“Any donations people can make are so greatly appreciated by the cats and two-leggers alike!
“With nearly 300 cats and kittens here, residents and those looking for homes, we are in desperate need of adult and kitten dry and wet food.
“We also need bleach, washing-up liquid and washing powder; and towels, bedding, but not quilts or pillows. Thank you.”
If you want to donate some cat food or cleaning products you can visit the shelter’s Facebook page where there is a link to an Amazon wishlist.
You can also donate by leaving food in supermarket donation bins or taking food things directly to the shelter on Millstream Lane and hand delivering the offerings to their resident cats.
