The deadline for applications is Friday 7 April.

Joyce, President of Stalybridge Festival Committee, said: “Our Carnival Queens’ take a prominent position in the parade as it winds its way around the town centre and are seen by over 5,000 visitors lining the route as well as being formally crowned in Cheetham Park after the parade.”
“This year we are very keen to seek nominations for each of the Carnival Queen categories particularly as this has been seen as being an important element of the Carnival – which is now in its 47th year.”
Meanwhile, work continues toward preparations for the Festival committee’s Stalybridge Spring Show in Cheetham Park on Sunday 7 May.
Everyone is invited to come along and continue with their party celebrations to mark the Coronation of King Charles III which takes place on the previous day.
A five-metre tall Maypole is being transformed into a Crown Pole and will be the focal point of the performance area in the park. Sarah England’s Dance Academy (which always has a float at the Carnival) will perform several dances around the Crown Pole at the event.
Organising Secretary Ian Cochrane said: “We are planning a fun packed afternoon of activities including a large family fun fair, many craft and community stalls and a Fun Dog Show. This year we are including a “Best King Charles Class” for King Charles Spaniels and Cavaliers to help continue our Coronation theme.”
