Students at Stalybridge-based Works4U College have raised £400 for the Anthony Seddon Fund charity.
The students took to the water at Stamford Park boating lake recently as they staged their latest sponsored kayaking event.
Works4U work with young people aged 14 to 24 to provide an educational service which is different to mainstream school, providing a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Such fundraising events help teach them a ‘sense of community awareness and understanding of what it means to give back and raise money for those in need.’
They were paddling out on the lake to raise funds for Ashton-based charity The Anthony Seddon Fund, which supports mental well-being in the community.
The students presented the funds they raised to Community Mental Health Development Worker at Anthony Seddon Angie Wild.
She said a huge thank you to the continued support of the students, helping to raise not only vital funds, but awareness of mental health issues and that the charity is always available to offer help and advice when needed.
