Stagecoach Manchester recently visited three local schools to talk to children and spread awareness about the importance of public transport.
Among the visits to schools across the region the team called into was Stalyhill Infant School.
Visiting bus drivers hosted a Q&A session, where the children had the opportunity to ask transport-related questions.
Pupils wanted to find out more about the day-to-day roles in the driving industry, asking questions such as: “What do you do if there’s a fire?” and “How often do you need to fill the bus with petrol?”
Leah Plant, Teacher at Stalyhill Infants school said: “A huge thank you to Stagecoach Manchester for taking the time to join us. Our pupils found this extremely interesting and loved exploring the bus!”
The pupils were invited to climb aboard a bus, with many getting the chance to sit in the driver’s seat. Stagecoach handed out goodie bags to the children which included high-vis Stagecoach snap bands and a cardboard build your own bus for the children to design and assemble.
Lee Wasnidge, Managing Director at Stagecoach Manchester, added: “At Stagecoach, we put our community first and believe delivering amazing customer service goes beyond the daily bus service.
“I hope the students benefited from meeting our drivers. We look forward to doing more educational visits in the future.”
