Denton South councillors are urging local residents to join them on ‘The Big Walk’, a 10 or five mile fundraising challenge in aid of Forever Green’s Defibrillator Fundraiser.
The Big Walk will encompass Werneth Low (for the 10-milers) and Reddish Vale Country Park (for the five and 10-milers).
The registration fee is £5 and everyone that registers will get refreshments, fundraising and training tips and a medal on completion.
Those embarking on the challenge, planned for September 19, are being encouraged to ask friends, family members and colleagues to donate to the fundraiser.
Cllrs Claire Reid, Jack Naylor and George Newton (‘Team Denton South’) said: “Denton South has two 24-hour accessible community defibrillators.
“They are in regular use, saving the lives of our friends, family members and neighbours.
“This life-saving machinery requires regular maintenance and investment.
“Team Denton South’s Big Walk is raising funds to keep the defibrillators working and to invest in more life-saving machinery and training.
“We hope that as many people as possible will be able to join us for what promises to be a challenging but fun community day out.”
