The Friends of the Tame Valley is looking for volunteers to help litter-pick around Shepley Wood, Jet Amber Fields and the Upper Haughton and Whittles Meadows over Easter.
The group of volunteers aiming to improve the woodland in the Tame Valley was formed in February by Denton MP Andrew Gwynne, who is secretary, as well as local councillors including Denise Ward, who is the group's chair.
Almost 300 bags of rubbish and fly-tipping has been removed by the group - which already has over 100 members - over the past month.
The group said on its Facebook page: "Our valley is looking much cleaner as a result... BUT there's still litter out there.
"It's a great way to walk off those hot cross buns and Easter eggs AND love where you live at the same time.
"If you can help us, please email ajgwynne@sky.com and we can arrange litter-picking equipment and drop points for full bags."
The group was set up to secure improvements to the section of the Tame Valley which runs from Shepley Woods in Audenshaw, through Jet Amber Fields, and along the Upper Haughton and Whittles Meadows to Mill Lane in Haughton Green.
We reported recently that the Friends group's first bid for grant funding was successful, as it learnt that it will receive £6,420 after applying to the Bradley Park Community Fund.
