The new Civic Mayor of Tameside's first official engagement was to open a celebratory event at The Heys Primary School in Ashton for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The pupils - who were dressed in red, white and blue for the colours of the Union Jack flag - began by singing God Save The Queen before Councillor Mike Glover officially opened the event.
He was formally confirmed as taking the chains and robes of office the previous evening at a full council meeting.
The event was well attended by family and friends and everyone had lots of fun.
There was a bouncy castle, a royal photo booth, Royal races, pin the diamond on the crown, play your cards right and soak the teacher to name but a few.
Soreen donated malt loaf, Dolce provided hot food samples for all to enjoy and one of the children's grandparents, Sandra, provided the incredibly popular candy floss.
The local community police officers also paid a visit to the Whiteacre Road school and even had a go on some of the stalls!

The children displayed their Jubilee work in the hall, which showed the culmination of all their hard work leading up to the event. The work included stories, collages, letters, printing and design and technology projects.
Head teacher Lyndsay Davison said: "This is the first time since the pandemic began that we have been able to invite the whole community into school and we know that our children will remember this day for many years to come. Every child received a commemorative mug or teddy to mark this auspicious occasion. Every activity and stall was completely free of charge because we wanted our families to be able to celebrate with us without worrying about cost."
Chair of Governors, Arati Patel Mistry, said: "What a fantastic start to the Queens Jubilee celebrations. It is our first event at school with all our parents and carers and it is wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves."
