The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Tafheen Sharif, is hosting a Bollywood-themed Curry Night to spice up donations to her charity appeal.
The fund-raiser will be held at the Indian Plaza in Audenshaw on Wednesday, November 8, from 5:30 pm onwards.
Tickets (£25) include a three-course meal, live entertainment, an auction and a raffle.
The Civic Mayor said: “As I enter the second half of my year in office, I want to give my appeal fund an extra push. I’ve chosen some worthy charities in Tameside and will put every penny I can generate for them to very good use.
“By buying a ticket and coming along on November 8, you’ll not only be supporting good causes but getting a delicious meal with live Bollywood entertainment as well. What could be better? Please come and join us because it’s going to be a great evening with a great atmosphere.”
The Mayor’s charity appeal fund comprises Home Start (HOST), which offers expert support to families with young children going through difficult times; West African Development; and We Shall Overcome, an organisation providing support for people experiencing homelessness.
*Tickets are available from the Mayor’s secretary, Christine Acton, on 0161 342 3087 or by emailing mayorsoffice@tameside.gov.uk .
