Budding photographers are being encouraged to send in their shots of the borough for the Tameside Through the Seasons Calendar 2024 competition.
Tameside Community Champions launched the competition for 2024 following the success of the 2023 calendar, which highlighted striking photographs of the local area sent in by residents.
The 2024 competition will run throughout the year with residents invited to capture the essence of Tameside through seasonal images.
The deadlines for entries for each season are; Winter March 13, Spring June 12, Summer September 11, and Autumn November 6.
Once the final entry is received, a panel of judges will put together a short-list, which will be followed by a public vote to decide the winners for the 2024 Calendar.
To showcase the winning images, a celebration event and exhibition will be held at the Portland Basin Museum.
The celebration for the launch of the 2023 calendar was held at Portland Basin recently, with the local winning photographers praised for their contributions.
A special exhibition of the photographs was also organised and enjoyed plenty of positive feedback earlier this month.
Tameside Council Assistant Executive Member for Culture, Heritage and Digital Inclusivity Cllr Sangita Patel said: “Whether you have a camera, tablet or smart phone we encourage you to get out into the local countryside, town centres, and villages and send us your images that celebrate Tameside’s diverse nature, culture and heritage.”
You can send images to community.champions@tameside.gov.uk
