Tameside Toy Appeal 2024 Launched to Bring Joy to Local Children This Christmas

Tameside Toy Appeal 2024 officially launched at The Together Centre in Dukinfield

Today, the Tameside Toy Appeal 2024 officially launched at The Together Centre in Dukinfield, with Not Really Here Media and Action Together joining forces to spread holiday cheer. The annual initiative aims to support families in need by ensuring children in Tameside wake up to a special gift on Christmas morning.

Jonathan King, Community Development Officer at Action Together, emphasised the significance of the appeal. “We need donations of new and unwrapped toys or gifts for children aged 0-18. Every gift donated to the Tameside Toy Appeal will go directly to a child in Tameside whose family is experiencing poverty," he said. "In previous years, this appeal has been incredibly successful, allowing us to donate many toys and gifts and bring joy to disadvantaged children. Together, we can make great things happen again this Christmas."

Suggested Gifts for Each Age Group

The appeal is accepting donations for children of all ages, with a few suggestions to guide those interested in giving:

  • 0-5 years: Sensory toys, books, building blocks, bath toys, play mats, teethers, dolls, cars, activity toys, fancy dress costumes, musical toys, puzzles.
  • 5-11 years: Colouring books, pencils, jigsaws, arts and crafts kits, Play-Doh, Lego, science kits, remote control toys, sports games, board games, fidget toys.
  • 12-18 years: Stationery, cosmetic gift sets, headphones, watches, speakers, hot water bottles, makeup, card games, and snoodies.
  • All ages: Books, gloves, hats, pyjamas, scarves, slippers, and socks.

Donors can drop off new and unwrapped gifts, knowing they’ll be helping children in Tameside who might otherwise go without. For more details on how to get involved, visit https://www.notreallyheremedia.com/tameside-toy-appeal-2024/.

Let’s come together as a community to make sure every child in Tameside feels the joy of the holiday season.
