Droylsden Little Theatre presents their newest play this October after over a year of closed doors.

Table Manners is a light-hearted play which centres around an affair between main character, Annie, and her sister’s husband, Norman. However, their plans for an illicit weekend start to unravel around the dining room table, where the story is set.

Jayne Skudder will be playing Annie’s jilted sister, Ruth, and is incredibly excited to be stepping on the stage again.

She added: “We tried to keep going with online events at the theatre to keep spirits up and let people know we’re still there for them, but it was quite a difficult time, financially and socially.

“It’s so positive to be getting back on the road with Table Manners, the set was actually left up from last year, as the play was supposed to go ahead in March, just before the lockdown.”

Droylsden Little Theatre usually puts on 6 plays a season, but this season they’ve settled on 4.

Jayne explained: “We think 4 is a good number, just to get everybody into the swing of things. We’re calling our audience members and any new members to come down and help us get things running again after covid.

“A lot of people visit the theatre for the first time and then come back again, but it’s all about getting people through the door in the first place and letting them know we’re there for them.”
