Twilight Wanderers are underway

Some 150 walkers have stepped out to support this year's Twilight Willow Wood Wander tonight.

Families, groups and individuals all assembled at Astley Sports Village in Dukinfield to take part in this year's Twilight Wander tonight to raise vital funds for Ashton-based Willow Wood Hospice.

After a warm up outside the 'Wanderers' were off - and although a 'Twilight' Wander the final participants are not expected back until 12-1am.

Tameside Radio and Tameside Reporter were there to wish everyone taking part the best of luck.

One of the refreshment points and cheering the 'Wanderers' on tonight are the team at The Rising Moon on Matley Lane in Hyde.

Owner Tina Harrison said she was more than happy to help the fundraiser and would be providing the walkers with refreshments including drinks of water and crisps - while her team were all dressed in pink and would be waving flags as the walkers arrived at the water station.

The venue was also staging a Willow Wood fundraising night of its own complete with entertainment and even 'The Ghostbusters' - employed to keep the Wanderers extra safe!
