A newly-opened community centre in the Waterloo area of Ashton will be holding a 'uniform swap shop' over the summer.
It will be open from Saturday 24 July at the 4C Community Centre, in the grounds of Christ Church between Oldham Road and Taunton Road.
The centre is looking for clean, useable uniform, school shoes and PE kit from Waterloo Primary, Canon Burrows and Canon Johnson schools, as well as Happy Hedgehog Nursery.
Parents are invited to bring their child's old uniform and take what they need. It's designed to provide some support with uniform costs and help the environment too by getting more use out of the items.
A spokesperson from the centre said: "The response to this has been amazing so far.
"There's a donation box in reception so we have a level of stock that we can isolate before the 24th. If you have any uniform that’s ready to donate, please bring it down and place in the box in a carrier bag."
Anyone with specific requests can get in touch with the centre via https://www.4cashton.org.uk/contact_us. The centre can also be found on Facebook and Twitter through the handle @4CAshton.
The centre, which is a space for residents of all ages to use and has been in construction for nearly a decade, was officially opened by Tameside's civic mayor Janet Cooper earlier this month - at an event attended by councillors and local MP Angela Rayner.
