The driver of a white van was arrested in the Stalybridge area on suspicion of various offences.
Greater Manchester Police's Traffic division tweeted late on Tuesday evening (7 December) to say that a Ford Transit van had passed them 'at speed'.
Officers signalled the vehicle to stop and, after they checked the van, the driver was subsequently arrested.
The tweet said: "Vehicle stopped and driver has been arrested after the chassis was checked and the van was found to be an outstanding stolen on false plates."
GMP Traffic said the suspect was "en route to custody" after being arrested on suspicion of theft, drug driving and drug possession.
