A voluntary community group which helps to feed the homeless and hungry of Tameside and beyond is urgently appealing for help.
Hyde-based Sandwich Angels says it has "come to a standstill" and has had to refer people who need support elsewhere because it hasn't had enough food to give out.
The group is in need of food items that could be used in a box to feed a family for seven days - including for meals.
One way that people can help is donating items of food whilst doing shopping at any of the group's drop-off locations - based at Morrisons in Hyde, the Co-op in Newton, Morrisons in Denton, Village Nursery in Gee Cross and Fairfield View Care Centre in Audenshaw.
Alternatively, people who are able to donate frozen food or fresh fruit and vegetables in particular can text 07713973640 to arrange drop-off.
People can also donate to a JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lisa-martin-85 so that Sandwich Angels can continue to provide food for those who need it.
