All the scrumptious sounds and smells of Christmas will be present at the final Stalybridge Street Feast of 2021.
There will be brass music from Stalybridge Old Band as well as mulled wine and hot food beneath the festive lights in and around Armentieres Square from 5pm to 9pm on Friday (10 December).
There will also be children’s crafts in the Victorian civic hall, and to top it all a flash-mob dance.
Street Feast – which takes place in the historic heart of Stalybridge – has proved hugely popular since it was launched in July as the result of a partnership between Tameside Markets and the Market Co.
Crowds have steadily increased over the following months, all eager to enjoy a widening array of dishes and drinks on the banks of the 200-year-old Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
Street Feast project lead Cllr Eleanor Wills said: “We’ve had some brilliant street feasts so far but I think we could be finishing off the year with the best yet. It’s going to have a really warm Christmassy feel and be the perfect place for families to get into the festive mood.
“I want to invite people to come into Stalybridge and enjoy a great evening. What could be better than sipping a mulled wine in the chilly December air at Tameside’s very own continental-style street market event, and in such a lovely and historic location?
“Come and join us. You won’t be disappointed.”
