Last Saturday (23 October) saw the eagerly awaited Willow Wood Firewalk take place at Daisy Nook Garden Centre.
It's always a spectacular event and a highlight in the Ashton-based hospice’s fundraising calendar.
Participants included local councillor George Newton, who represents Denton South and is a long term supporter of the Hospice, not only braving the Firewalk this year, but who has even jumped from a plane at 10,000 feet to raise funds to help local people.

Event organiser Laura Marinelli said: “Thanks to everyone who hot-footed it along a path of burning embers – you really are all brave soles(!) and we’re so glad nobody got cold feet!
"Seriously though, it was fantastic to see our supporters out at this fundraiser. And can I thank both Daisy Nook Garden Centre for their support and also Kerry Foods who sponsored the event, meaning that all funds raised will go directly to patient care.
“If you were unable to take part in the Firewalk but would like to support us by making a donation please go to www.willowwood.info where you will also find information about our future fundraisers.”
