Woodend Mill gears up for open weekend event

The independent artists and creative businesses based at Woodend Mill, Mossley, under the umbrella of Woodend Mill Studios, have announced that their next open weekend event will take place between Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1, 2024.

The event will give the local community the opportunity to come along and share what the artists and businesses get up to at the mill, with free workshops, craft activities and things aimed to entertain our younger visitors.

The talented team at Woodend Mill Studios will also be offering bauble making, free workshops in embroidery, knitting, jewellery making, traditional crafts, pottery and glass demonstrations. For younger ones, there will be a reindeer trail where children collect clues, and Santa's workshop where children can write their letter to Santa and post them.

Prop-makers will fill the mill with large puppets and interactive installations for all visitors to engage with. There will also be science experiments for children provided by SciTech, which is expected to be very popular.

The event will include an exhibition of local school children's art, working in conjunction with local schools and many of the children who attend art classes with some of the studio holders.

The open weekend is completely free to attend, with stall fees and raffle ticket sales to be donated to local charity Emmaus Mossley.

Food will also be available. The event will take place between 10am-4pm on each of the days. For more details you can visit www.woodendmillstudios.co.uk/open-studio-christmas-2024
