Work has started on the construction of new homes at the former Hartshead High Secondary School site in Ashton.
Taylor Wimpey Manchester is constructing the new development which will comprise 195 contemporary homes designed to provide a range of options for first-time buyers and growing families.
Fifteen per cent of the new build properties will be affordable homes.
Properties include a mix of one-bedroom apartments, plus semi-detached and detached two-to-four-bedroom homes.
The development will also create 184 construction and supply jobs per year of the development.
Taylor Wimpey Manchester’s plans for the development include a contribution of £174,997 investment into improving the local infrastructure and open space.
The Harts Mead development will also benefit from a play area, kick-about space, open space, and enhancement to the existing right of way to accommodate pedestrians/cyclists which will connect to surrounding green spaces and nature walks.
All the play facilities on the development will be accessible to the local area, not just residents of the Harts Mead development.
The development will be launching virtually in the coming weeks.
