Dave Sweetmore
Since 1996 Dave Sweetmore has been a key figure on the Northern and UK Music Scene, building up a solid and loyal fanbase and following.
As an established concert, festival, event and nightclub DJ and host, specializing in 'the best and coolest records ever made' he has entertained hundreds of thousands of music fans at many legendary clubs and gig venues around the UK, and as a concert, tour, and festival DJ has worked alongside many bands including Ocean Colour Scene, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, Scouting For Girls, Razorlight, The Fratellis, Lightning Seeds, The Selector, Cast, The Feeling, Black Grape, The Lathums, Dodgy, Little Man Tate, The Coral, Twisted Wheel, Feeder, and many more.
You will also find him at many festivals including Shiiine On, Geronimo, Kendal Calling, and many of the UK's large tribute festivals.
He’s been a regular guest on BBC Radio Manchester for almost 20 years, and started his own personal radio show 'The Dave Sweetmore Show' in 2015 on Revolution 96.2, before joining Tameside Radio in 2020.
His show has regularly featured guests such as Status Quo, Frank Turner, Stereophonics, Shed Seven, James, Travis to name just a few.
Dave is also a loyal supporter of new and unsigned music, and is the man behind our popular ‘Local Music Spotlight’ feature. Below you can see some of the bands that Dave's brought to the airwaves at Tameside Radio.
As a stadium announcer and DJ for the English Football League between 2001 and 2022, based mainly at Rochdale AFC, he won many accolades and awards from the likes of Sky Sports and the BBC. Sky Sports named him 'The Best ever DJ / Announcer In Football'. He gave up this position in June 2022 to concentrate more on live events and radio, and in leaving this position he attracted worldwide media attention, including in the New York Times, where they named him ‘the inventor of British Rock n Roll football’.
Since 2018 Dave has also been the presenter for online tv channels MMTV and Mancunia TV, programmes which showcase the best in Manchester music, sport, creativity, and inspirational people.
Dave started covering the Tameside Radio drivetime show in October 2022, before accepting the position full time in January 2023.
You can hear Dave every weekday on Tameside Radio between 3pm and 7pm, featuring his Weekday Jukebox, his ‘Guess The Track Maisie Mc’ feature, plus regular special guests.
He also presents his well-established long running ‘Dave Sweetmore Show’ every Monday night, alongside Laura Beth, between 7pm and 9pm, featuring classic indie anthems from across the decades, new music, and weekly guests and features.

January 24th, Indie Rock n Roll Local Music Spotlight Live
Last Friday night, January 24th, we held our fourth Indie Rock n Roll Local Music Spotlight Live night at Whittles at Tokyo Live Music Venue in Oldham. The previous three had all been amazing, but with February being the month we will broadcast our 100th band or artist on the feature, the whole night on Friday felt like a really special achievement.

Legendary Liverpool band Cast tonight (Thursday August 8th) play at Holmfirth Picturedrome, following the release of their seventh studio album 'Love Is The Call'. The band, who formed in 1992, were one of the most important bands in my life growing up, and to this day remain one of the best live bands around.

One of Manchester's best loved, and perhaps most underrated, underground Punk Rock bands have finally released a greatest hits album, 46 years after forming. The limited edition "Singles Plus" CD by Eddie Mooney and the Grave features all the singles from 1979 to 2024, 16 tracks in total, which have been recently remastered.

Fragile Audio
Fragile Audio were formed in 2003 by singer and songwriter Matt Gough. The band have recently returned after a three-year break, their last live performance was at the 'Made in Manchester Festival' in front of 2000 people. Fast forward to January 2025 and Fragile Audio are back, with a brand-new single entitled '38 Snub'.

The Information Highway
The Information Highway are a five piece Manchester band who reformed in 2022 after a short break, and quickly made their mark back on the Northwest music scene as a highly respected band. The much-loved band describe their music as 'Uplifting Anthemic Indie, with songs which inspire, uplift, and connect with audiences on a deeply emotional level'.

Saneface
Influenced by the likes of Two Doors Cinema Club and Car Seat Headrest, four-piece band Saneface formed in high school and consists of Nic Malabuyoc (Vocals, Guitar) Lucas May (Drums) Fred Roberts (Guitar) and Rhys Mcnish (Bass, Backing Vocals).

Shake Rag
Shake Rag formed in 2021, and consist of lead singer and guitarist Richard Moses, lead guitarist Garry Parvin, bass player Heath Evdemon, and drummer Archi Bremna. After forming, the band started playing old blues and rockabilly classics but quickly started to write their own songs. They named themselves Shake Rag after the community in Tupelo where Elvis Presley lived as a young boy, and where so much great blues music came from. The place itself got its name from the fact that the railroad went through it but there was no station, so if you wanted to stop the train you had to shake a rag.

Jesus Knievel are a three-piece psychedelic, alt rock trio who formed in 2007, and have spent over 15 years building a loyal and loving fan base, via their unpredictable and explosive live shows, along with the release of four eclectic, exuberant studio albums.

The Sick Fix
The Sick Fix are a young four piece indie punk band, consisting of bass guitarist Ollie Jaques, rhythm guitarist Alfie Radford, drummer Ted Wright and lead guitarist and lead vocalist Leo Mitchell who formed in April, and are influenced by the likes of The Libertines, The Chats, The Clash, The Jam and The Small Faces.

Chris Bridgett is a well known and respected time served singer, songwriter and guitarist from Manchester who in his early career was guitarist in legendary Manchester bands Dub Sex and Rude Club.

Holly is a talented singer and songwriter with many years of experience performing professionally. Known for her captivating voice, Holly has spent much of her career entertaining audiences through cover gigs, showcasing her ability to bring a fresh energy to classic songs.

Atlas are a five piece indie rock n roll band from Littleborough, Rochdale, only formed in 2023. In the space of just twelve months have proven themselves to be one of the best and tightest, and most exciting new bands around.

Consisting of Abi White with her stunning vocals, Ryan Croney, Liam Croney and Joe Myers, the band have been described as "one of Manchester’s finest musical exports of recent times"

Influenced by the likes of Oasis, The Stone Roses, Northside and The La's, the 19-year-old singer songwriter has recently supported The La's guitarist Barry Sutton and Seahorses frontman Chris Helme.
