Glossopdale School pupils find out about the world of work with us

Four Year 10 pupils from Glossopdale School joined Quest Media Network for their work experience week.

Students Millie Talbot, Courtney Minshull, Chloe Minshull and Nica Wong-Birchall, all 15, enjoyed a flavour of what it is like to work in the world of media.

They had a go at taking pictures and penning articles for the Tameside Reporter and Glossop Chronicle, plus produced script work and found out all about broadcasting on Tameside Radio - assisting in the production of the Reporter Show.

The group also found out about online reporting and joined our graphics team to find out about advert and page design using photoshop.

Their major project, however, where the girls were certainly put through their paces, was to create a promotional video for Ashton Market.

They accompanied our photographer and videographer Nigel Wood around the market, speaking to traders and filming them hard at work.

It wasn’t all work and no play, though, and the students were rewarded with some fabulous free food and even a beauty treatment courtesy of the generous traders.

We would like to thank the market team and traders for their assistance in creating the video, which you can watch at the top of this page.

As part of their work experience week, the students also got to spend some time with Bird PR to find out about public relations.
