Dukinfield couple celebrates new year with gratitude for fundraising success in glamorous event

The 3-4-1 Charity Ball black-tie event in December last year raised substantial funds for Dementia UK, Meningitis Now, and Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

Dukinfield couple, Dilip and Daksha Mistry, held a remarkably successful black-tie event, raising a whopping £14,000 for their three chosen charities.

Daksha has expressed her deepest gratitude: “Your unwavering support was instrumental in achieving this substantial fundraising milestone. We thank each of you for championing our causes and the 3-4-1 Charity Ball Project. Your support means the world to us. Your incredible generosity, whether through purchasing tickets for the 3-4-1 Charity Ball, participating in the raffle, tombola, auction, or providing donations, deserves our heartfelt and utmost gratitude.

“Your presence was nothing short of splendid, each of you adorned in exquisite Black-Tie ensembles. To the ladies who adorned saris, offering an alternative to the traditional ball gowns, your elegance was truly sensational.”

The event saw some stand-out performances by Natraj Academy, Jane Barnes Academy, Oldham Theatre Workshop, and Oldham Music Service. The MCs, Jeff Longmore and John Henshaw played pivotal roles in making the event remarkable.

“Elaine Sagar, our shining star, contributed immensely to the program. Her meticulous organisation and seamless coordination ensured the smooth operation behind the scenes. She was the linchpin, holding everything together with admirable finesse; we are profoundly thankful for that. Here's to a New Year filled with health, happiness, and resounding success for all,” Daksha said.

Distinguished guests, including the Civic Mayor of Oldham, Dr Zahid Chauhan OBE, FRCGP, Tameside Councillor Betty Affleck, Oldham councillors Cllr Shaid Mushtaq and Cllr Jenny Harrison and many others, graced the event.

Jill Kirkham, community and partnerships fundraising lead of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “I was delighted to be invited to the 3-4-1 Charity Ball in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Meningitis Now and Dementia UK. The evening was well organised, and the entertainment was fantastic. I was extremely grateful for the opportunity to speak on behalf of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice about our patient services and highlight how much our community support means to our patients and their families.

"A big thank you to all the event organisers and everyone who contributed to making the event a huge success. Including thanks to Hospice Patron John Henshaw, Jeffery Longmore and Shobna Gulati, and Jayne Barnes Dance School for their unwavering support at the event representing Dr Kershaw’s Hospice!”
