Helping raise vital funds for the Haywill Animal Rescue & Therapy Centre has been supporter Emma Brierley.
At Haywill's Dog Show held on Bank Holiday Monday at the Etherow Centre in Broadbottom, she allowed people to help cut her hair before it was all cut off for a sponsored head shave.
Emma said: “Lynn Haydon-Williams set up this amazing sanctuary in Glossop and in Broadbottom. It helps people and animals. It doesn’t turn anyone away.”
Explaining why she wanted to help, she said: “These animals, there are so many of them, they deserve the best care and the best feed that involves vets’ bills.”
She wanted to take on the sponsored hair shave to help raise as much money as she could to support the charity and its work.

Lynn, founder of the charity, said: “I just want to thank Emma for doing this.”
She said it broke her heart to take the scissors to Emma’s hair. “But we really really appreciate it and I hope people really appreciate the sacrifice she has made.”
Emma has so far raised over £200 and it's not too late to help add the fundraising total by donating at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/emmabrierleyssponsoredshaveforhaywill.
