GALLERY: Family Fun Day at Stamford Park

Despite the forecasts, the rains held off and huge numbers of people flocked into Stamford Park to enjoy another great spring fun day last Sunday (23 April).

The flagship Victorian park on the Stalybridge - Ashton border played host to lots of mostly free entertainment.

As usual, all the activities proved popular, from the birds of prey and dog show to the performers and more traditional pastimes such as bowls and the boating lake. Some children frolicked in the fountains while others joined their families for a picnic on the grass.

Lots of people took advantage of the chance to get their bicycle checked by Manchester Bike Kitchen who also carried out minor repairs.

Our photographer Nigel Wood went along and you can browse through his images in our album here...
